Social Networking Privacy

FACEBOOK PRIVACY GUIDE


STEP 1 (Click Here)


LOG ON to your facebook account and click on the 'privacy' tab (top right corner).

STEP 2 (Click Here)

Edit Settings: Profile
All of your networks and all of your friends are able to view your profile, photos and videos of yourself, and your contact information! Make sure to change these to 'only my friends'! You don't want complete strangers in your networks viewing you and your information do you!?

STEP 3 (Click Here)

Edit Setting: Search

I can't stress this part enough, when it concerns your kids safety! "Which Facebook users can find me in search?" The default is set for "Everybody" to search anyone! Meaning anybody can search your kid! Even a child predator! Make sure to change this immediately to 'only my friends'!

STEP 4 (Click Here)

Does what happens in the Facebook stay in the Facebook? NO!

Facebook allows users to post:

Favorite Music, Movies, Tv Shows, Books, Address, Education History, Phone Number, Email, Jobs, Sex, Birthday, Hometown, Political Views, Screenames, Upload pictures of yourself, Relationship Status, Relation to friends, Sexual Interest, Activities, General Interests, and Religious Views!

Facebook Privacy Policy:

"also collect information about you from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other users of the Facebook service through the operation of the service (e.g., photo tags) in order to provide you with more useful information and a more personalized experience."

Facebook Terms of Use:

Privacy Policy allows facebook to share your information with third party companies marketing groups who pay for your information! Nothing is for free and this applies to facebook too!
